Call Forwarding

Overview

Call Forwarding allows you to redirect incoming calls to different destinations based on various conditions, such as your availability, schedule, or preferences. This feature helps ensure that your calls are handled appropriately even when you're unable to answer them directly.

Settings Options

Forward All Calls

This option redirects all incoming calls to another number or extension, regardless of your current status.

To set up Forward All Calls:

  1. Enter the destination phone number or extension in the "Forward all calls to" field
  2. Select which calls to forward:
    • All calls
    • Internal calls only
    • External calls only
  3. Specify when calls will be forwarded:
    • No specific time excluded (always forward)
    • Explicitly specify times (only forward during specific hours)
    • Explicitly exclude times (don't forward during specific hours)
tip

When specifying times, you can set different schedules for each day of the week and holidays.

Forward When Busy

This option redirects calls when you're already on another call.

To set up Forward When Busy:

  1. Enter the destination phone number or extension in the "Forward calls when busy to" field
  2. Select which calls to forward (All calls, Internal calls, or External calls)
  3. Specify when this forwarding should be active using the time settings

Forward When No Answer

This option redirects calls when you don't answer within a specified time period.

To set up Forward When No Answer:

  1. Enter the destination phone number or extension in the field
  2. Select which calls to forward (All calls, Internal calls, or External calls)
  3. Specify when this forwarding should be active using the time settings
  4. Set the timeout period before the call is forwarded:
    • Default value (uses system-wide setting)
    • Custom timeout (1 to 60 seconds)

Forward When Not Registered

This option redirects calls when your extension is not registered with the system.

To set up:

  1. Enter the destination phone number or extension in the "Forward when not registered" field

Hot Desking

This option allows you to temporarily redirect your extension to another location.

To set up Hot Desking:

  1. Enter the destination phone number or extension in the "Hot desking at" field

Advanced Options

Call Hunting

Call hunting allows you to include additional extensions when your extension is called.

To set up Call Hunting:

  1. Enter the additional extensions in the "Include following extensions when this extension is being called" field
  2. Select the condition:
    • Default (always include)
    • When extension is in a call

Call Handling Options

The following options provide additional control over how your calls are handled:

  • Disconnect call with busy when extension is busy: When enabled, callers will receive a busy signal if you're already on a call
  • Disable calling mobile phone numbers: When enabled, prevents calls from being forwarded to mobile numbers
  • Disable calling the app: When enabled, prevents calls from being forwarded to the mobile app
  • Disable calling VoIP phones: When enabled, prevents calls from being forwarded to VoIP devices

Time-Based Forwarding

For each forwarding type (All, Busy, No Answer), you can specify different schedules:

  1. Select "Explicitly specify times" or "Explicitly exclude times" from the dropdown
  2. Enter time ranges for each day of the week in the format: 9:00-12:00 13:00-17:00
  3. Enter holiday exceptions in the format: 0704 1224-1227 (representing July 4th and December 24-27)
note

Multiple time ranges can be entered for each day, separated by spaces.

Saving Your Settings

After making any changes to your call forwarding settings:

  1. Click the Save button (checkmark icon) at the bottom of the page
  2. A confirmation message will appear when your settings have been saved successfully

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your call forwarding settings:

  • If specific time-based forwarding isn't working, verify your time format follows the pattern HH:MM-HH:MM
  • For holiday exceptions, use the format MMDD for single days or MMDD-MMDD for ranges
  • If your calls aren't being forwarded as expected, check that you haven't accidentally enabled conflicting options such as "Disable calling mobile phone numbers"
