Monitoring Settings
Overview
The Monitoring settings allow you to configure how calls are handled, monitored, and managed within your Vodia PBX system. These settings control features such as call pickup groups, parking orbits, caller ID blocking, call waiting, and wake-up calls.
Available Settings
Pickup Numbers
Pickup numbers allow you to answer calls ringing on other extensions within your pickup group. When someone in your group receives a call, you can dial the pickup number from your phone to answer their call.
- Format: Enter individual extension numbers or number ranges separated by commas
- Example: 101, 102, 200-210
- Note: You must have proper permissions to pick up calls from other extensions
Parking Orbits
Parking orbits (sometimes called "call parking") allow you to place a call on hold at a specific extension number so it can be retrieved from any other phone in the system.
- Format: Enter individual extension numbers or number ranges separated by commas
- Example: 700-710
- Usage: To park a call, transfer it to an available orbit number. Anyone can retrieve the call by dialing that orbit number.
Block Caller ID
This setting allows you to block your caller ID information from being displayed when making outbound calls.
Option | Description |
---|---|
On | Your number will be hidden from the called party |
Off | Your caller ID information will be displayed (Default) |
Call Waiting
The call waiting feature allows you to receive notification of incoming calls while you're already on a call.
Option | Description |
---|---|
On | You'll hear a tone when another call is incoming while you're on a call (Default) |
Off | Additional incoming calls will go to voicemail or follow your busy call handling rules |
You can switch between active calls using your phone's call waiting controls
Wake-up Call
Configure automatic wake-up calls to ring your extension at specified times.
- Format: Enter time in HH:MM format (24-hour clock)
- Example: 07:30
- Note: The system will call your extension at the specified time
How to Configure Monitoring Settings
- Navigate to the Monitoring Settings page in your Vodia PBX user portal
- Configure the desired settings as described above
- Click the "Save" button to apply your changes
For pickup groups to work properly, all extensions that should be able to pick up each other's calls must have each other in their pickup lists.
