Google Integration

Overview

The Google Integration feature allows you to connect your Vodia PBX with Google services. This integration enables you to access and synchronize your Google Contacts with the Vodia PBX system, making it easier to manage your contacts across platforms.

Getting Started

Before using the Google integration, you need to ensure you have:

  • A valid Google account
  • Proper permissions within your Vodia PBX system
  • Access to the Vodia PBX web interface

How to Enable Google Integration

  1. Navigate to the Google Integration section in your Vodia PBX interface
  2. Check the status indicator (red X means disconnected, green checkmark means connected)
  3. Click the "Get auth code" button to begin the authorization process
  4. A new window will open with the Google authorization page
  5. Sign in to your Google account and grant the requested permissions
  6. The window will close automatically once authorization is complete
  7. The status indicator will change from a red X to a green checkmark when successfully connected

The integration specifically requests access to your Google Contacts, allowing you to use this information within your Vodia PBX system.

Authentication Details

When you authorize the integration, the system:

  • Connects to Google's OAuth authentication service
  • Requests access to your Google Contacts data
  • Uses your Vodia PBX credentials as the state parameter for security
  • Requests offline access to maintain the connection even when you're not actively using the interface

How to Disable Google Integration

If you need to disconnect your Google account:

  1. Navigate to the Google Integration settings
  2. Click the "Disable" button (appears only when integration is active)
  3. The system will revoke access and the status indicator will return to a red X

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

If the authorization window appears but fails to connect:

  • Ensure you're signing in with the correct Google account
  • Verify that pop-ups are allowed in your browser for the Vodia PBX site
  • Check that your system's client ID is properly configured (contact your administrator if unsure)

Status Indicator Problems

If the status indicator doesn't update after authorization:

  • Refresh the page
  • Try signing out and back into the Vodia PBX interface
  • Contact your system administrator if problems persist

This integration uses Google's OAuth 2.0 protocol for secure authentication and requires a client ID that should be configured by your system administrator.
