Cellphone Integration
The Cellphone Integration feature allows you to connect your mobile phone to your Vodia PBX extension. This enables you to receive and manage calls on your cellphone when you're away from your desk, ensuring you never miss important calls.
Getting Started
Before setting up cellphone integration, ensure you have:
- A valid extension on the Vodia PBX system
- The cellphone number(s) you want to integrate
- Administrator access to configure your extension settings
Configuring Cellphone Integration
Setting Up Your Cellphone Numbers
- Navigate to your extension settings
- Locate the Cellphone Integration section
- Enter your cellphone number(s) in the appropriate fields:
Cell Phone Numbers
Enter the cellphone numbers that should receive both incoming and outgoing calls from your extension.
Enter numbers in full format including country code (e.g., +1XXXXXXXXXX)
Cell Phone Numbers (Inbound Only)
Enter cellphone numbers that should only receive incoming calls but not be used for outgoing calls.
Interactive Menu Options
Special Menu for Cell Phone Calls
You can enable a special menu that appears when calls are answered on your cellphone.
- Enable/Disable: Toggle this option to turn the special menu on or off
Personal Virtual Assistant Settings
When your cellphone calls the PBX system, you can control whether the personal virtual assistant is offered.
- Offer personal virtual assistant: The system will present your personal virtual assistant menu
- Do not offer personal virtual assistant: The system will bypass the personal assistant menu
Call Routing Settings
Direct Extension Calls
Control when your cellphone rings when someone calls your extension directly:
Option | Behavior |
---|---|
Don't call cell phone | Your cellphone will not ring |
Call cell phone immediately | Your cellphone rings at the same time as your desk phone |
After X Seconds | Your cellphone rings after a specified delay (1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 seconds) |
Ring Group Behavior
Determine how your cellphone behaves when your extension is part of a ring group:

Don't call cell phone | Your cellphone will not ring as part of the group |
Include cell phone in the group | Your cellphone rings along with other phones in the group |
Only if the extension is unregistered | Your cellphone only rings if your desk phone is not registered |
Call Queue Behavior
Configure how your cellphone responds when your extension is part of a call queue:

Include cell phone in the group | Your cellphone receives calls from the queue |
Only if the extension is unregistered | Your cellphone only receives queue calls if your desk phone is not registered |
Web Callback Settings
Determine whether your cellphone is included when someone uses the web callback feature:

Scheduling Options
Cell Phone Call Scheduling
You can control when the system calls your cellphone:
- Never call the cell phone: Your cellphone will never ring
- Always call the cell phone: Your cellphone will always ring according to the other settings
- Specify hours: Define specific hours when your cellphone should ring
When "Specify hours" is selected, you can set specific time ranges for each day of the week:
- Monday through Sunday: Enter time ranges in the format "9A-5:30P" for each day
- Holidays: Enter specific dates in the format "12/24" or date ranges like "12/24-12/31"
Call Filtering
Numbers to Never Forward
Specify phone numbers that should never be forwarded to your cellphone:
- Enter complete phone numbers or patterns
- Separate multiple entries with commas or line breaks

Specify phone numbers that should always be forwarded to your cellphone, regardless of other settings:
- Enter complete phone numbers or patterns
- Separate multiple entries with commas or line breaks
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Cellphone Not Ringing
- Verify the cellphone number is entered correctly
- Check that the scheduling options are configured properly
- Ensure the extension is set to forward calls to cellphone
Call Quality Problems
- Ensure you have good cell reception
- Check that your cellphone's audio settings are properly configured
Menu Not Appearing
- Verify that the "Offer special menu" option is enabled
- Check that you're answering the call on the configured cellphone
Tips
Use the "Only if extension is unregistered" option to have calls automatically forward to your cellphone when you're away from your desk.
For important clients, add their numbers to the "Numbers that will get to the cell phone anytime" list to ensure you never miss their calls.
Set up different hours for weekdays and weekends to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
