Important: Opus Library Requirement

Version 70.preview requires the Opus audio codec library to be installed on your system. Please install the appropriate package for your operating system before upgrading:

For CentOS, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux:

dnf install -y opus

For Ubuntu, Debian:

apt-get install -y libopus0

Failure to install this library may result in audio codec issues or system errors.

Overview

Version 70.preview represents a major evolution of the Vodia PBX platform, introducing a completely redesigned Admin Portal built from the ground up with modern web technologies. This preview release strips away complexity with a clean, responsive interface designed for speed and efficiency. Whether you manage one tenant or hundreds, version 70 delivers faster navigation, smarter workflows, and powerful new capabilities that make PBX administration more intuitive than ever.

Before Upgrading

As with all upgrades, this is a great opportunity to create a file system backup of the working directory of the PBX and/or a snapshot of the virtual machine that runs it. Please refer to the documentation here.

The new Admin Portal maintains the overall structure you're familiar with, making the transition smoother for long-time users. However, some pages and workflows have been reorganized for better usability and performance.

Important considerations:

  • Review your custom scripts or integrations that may rely on specific admin interface elements
  • Ensure browser compatibility - the new interface is optimized for modern browsers
  • Test the new interface in a non-production environment first if possible
  • Familiarize yourself with the new search and navigation features to maximize efficiency

After Upgrading

After upgrading to version 70.preview, take time to explore the new Admin Portal interface. The overall structure remains familiar, but many improvements have been added to streamline your workflow.

Key actions after upgrade:

  • Explore the new search functionality (accessible via keyboard shortcut) to quickly find settings
  • Try switching between light and dark mode to find your preferred workspace

The new interface includes helpful notifications for unsaved changes and automatic whitespace trimming to prevent configuration errors.
